Dr Raj Kumar is a Member and Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM), Member of the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ECNP) and brings decades of specialist medical experience in neuroscience and psychiatry to the MyCognition team.
Raj previously was previously in charge of neuropsychiatric research at GlaxoSmithKline Beecham. He also worked as President of Research and Development and Commercialization for NCE’s at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Hyderabad, India, where he re-engineered drug-discovery and commercial organization to meet the needs of the growing BRIC markets. Raj also spent some time at Ranbaxy Laboratories, where he served as President of R&D. During this time, he gained experience working across early and late phase drug development across the Psychiatry and Neuroscience areas, culminating in a focus on the life-cycle management of the anti-depressant, Paxil.
Raj is visiting Professor at the University of Hyderabad, a guest lecturer for the MBE course at the Institute of Biotechnology, University of Cambridge and Governor at Cambridge Regional College. He has published extensively, presented clinical and scientific research at international and national forums, and served as a committee member for the affordable health care fund at The Wellcome Trust for three years. Raj is also co-founder of an anti-infective and neurosearch research company where he serves as a member of its Board of Directors.
Raj is a graduate in Medicine and Surgery from the Universities of Dundee (M.B. ChB), and a graduate of University of London (BSc.), and obtained his post-graduate diploma in Psychiatry and Neurology from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. (D.P.M).
